We are extremely proud of our Chief Scientific Officer, Professor Hafid Ait-Oufella, on his appointment as a member of the Collège of the French NationalAcademy of Medicine.

The Collège serves as a bridge between the Academy’s prestigious institution and the physicians shaping the medicine of today and tomorrow. Its members are selected for the impact of their work and practice, which actively contribute to advancing their respective fields and informing the Academy’s reflections on public health policy and the future of medicine.

With his dual expertise as both a researcher and an intensive care physician, Hafid brings a truly comprehensive perspective. This appointment recognizes his pioneering work in cardio-immunology — an emerging field that aims to treat cardiovascular diseases by targeting their immune component, an approach not yet part of the current standard of care.

Hafid’s work, recognized by the French National Academy of Medicine, forms the scientific foundation of Polygon Therapeutics’ drug development programs.
